Why Kettlebells?

So I, as did all of us find myself back at the start of the Covid pandemic, confined to being at home. Not being able to train myself out of the studio I was working from at the time, I found myself working out at home with a handful of kettlebells that I had to hand. It was only after a couple of workouts with them I recalled how versatile they are to train with. The great thing about the kettlebell workouts were the amount of core strength and stability, muscular coordination and muscle to mind connection that I wasn't getting to the same degree from workouts in the past, and with only a few kettlebells.

Kettlebell workouts are effective at delivering full body exercise with functional movement, building strength that translates into the real world. Also especially since becoming a dad to two children both under 2 years, I appreciate even more the struggles of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while balancing work, children and day to day life. That's why I understand the Importance of effective, full body, functional workouts that can be done at home or of course in the gym, with no more than a few kettlebells that deliver versatile effective full body workouts.

1:1 Personal Training
First step is to arrange a call with you to find out how I can help you, what you're looking to achieve and what goals you have. Once we've had a chat and discussed how i can help you and you feel like you would like to work with me then we can arrange a trial session. During the trial session we'll run through a range of exercises that are best suited to you and appropriate for your needs, as well as talking further about any guidance you want when it comes to nutritional support. The session also gives me the chance to work with you and look at any injuries we may need to work around, or look at specific exercises that will help with the rehabilitation. ​The majority of people coming to me are looking to generally improve their fitness and most of all looking "to get rid of some body fat". If this is a goal, you're wanting to achieve then the two things I always tell people before we start is if you want to get the results you want then you need commitment and consistency. Basically, don't expect to see results after two or three sessions, it's more like several months, and if you're happy to put the commitment in and be consistent with your training and diet then we can start on that first step to your goal! ​ What I ask if you're looking to make those long-term changes in your life is some commitment, and with that in mind I ask that you give me at least three months of your time to work together.
Kettlebell Coaching
So, as you may have already read when you jumped onto my website, kettlebell workouts have really played a big part of the way I train and in my workout routines. They're really versatile in the range of exercises that can be done with them, and lend themselves really well to full body big functional movement. Great for core strength and stability, upper and lower body, as well as muscle coordination. Also a big positive training with kettlebells is you only need a handful to have a really effective workout, without the need for a full gym in your own home. Kettlebell coaching works in exactly the same way as online coaching, but with the emphasis put on workout routines centred around kettlebells. Of course it's not online kettlebell coaching Ioffer and work with people on, but also in face to face training sessions. ​
Online Coaching
Over the last several years online personal training has become more popular choice for clients looking for guidance, motivation and accountability from a trainer, but the flexibility of being able to train in their own time. With online training I provide you with workout programmes for you to follow in your own time, regular check ins to keep up the motivation and accountability. Also, nutritional advice and guidance along with access to the training app, allowing you to log workouts, track progress and more.

I've been helping clients achieve their goals for many years, and I can help you achieve yours. Yes, it does mean that you have to be willing to put in the time, effort and commitment, and if you are then I can help you!
I'm always asked "how often should I be training a week? ".. The answer to that it's different for every individual, whether you can train once a week or six times a week, it's about making the best use of the time you have available to you. Of course, everyone is different and what is right for one person isn't necessarily going to be right for someone else. Ultimately it comes down to being consistent and having a level of commitment to want to make that difference, but also fit around social lives, kids, and being something that fits around that without being too restrictive. This means that getting the balance between exercise and a good diet is of course important to see those results you what, but also in a sustainable and maintainable way. So, I'll lead you through structured training sessions using the right exercises in the right way for you whatever your goal or requirement. Also, when you're not training with me and maybe you want to structure a workout routine to do at home or the gym, again that's something I can help you with. With that as well with the nutritional side of things I can guide and help you to make those changes to your diet that become a long-term change, and not some super restrictive short-term diet!

A little bit about me
So, I'm a dad of 2 little ones as well as being an online coach and personal trainer. I've been a personal trainer for nearly 15 years and a swimming coach for even longer, and with that I've gained a wide and expansive background in the fitness industry. Over the last few years I've centred my training with clients around functional exercise and training in particular with kettlebells, that benefit having positive effects on peoples day to day lives a well as improving strength, stamina and fat loss. Since becoming a dad of course time is more precious, and how I train myself has changed to fit in with my family and work. I find sometimes I might only have a 30 minute window to workout, and a full body kettlebell workout works brilliantly for that! I believe that you don't need a gym full of equipment or even a gym membership to get a very effective workout routine, that fits in with work and family.
